Visitors

Visitors are welcome at any time. There is no need to book a tee time. When you arrive you should pay for your golf with cash (£25 full day green fee) using the the honesty box in the gatehouse (by the main car park entrance). Take your receipt with you and enjoy a fantastic day of golf!

Westray is one of the Orkney Islands. It is very convenient to visit for a day’s golf if you are already on Mainland (the main island of Orkney). Most days (make sure you check the current published timetable), a ferry leaves Kirkwall at 7.20am, arriving in Westray at about 9am, a 15 minute bus ride takes you to the golf course. The returning ferry is at about 6pm, so the bus will pick you up from the course (arrange this with the driver in the morning) at about 5pm. This gives you 7.5 hours to enjoy golf, a walk to the hotel or shops for lunch (ten minute walk) and perhaps a visit to Noltland Castle, just up the road from the club (free entry, open every day).

If you are here on a Wednesday or Friday you can pop into Jack’s Chippy for some excellent Fish and Chips on your way back to the ferry!

It is safe and permitted to leave your clubs at the course while you visit other locations on Westray

If you wish to extend your visit there are many options for overnight accommodation on the Island. A green fee for a week is only £50.

Budget per person:
Ferry: £11 adult return (£36 with car)
Bus connection: £3.75 adult return
Golf: £25 full day
Total: Less than £50 for a great day out!
